Today, certain conditions have been created in Tajikistan for the development of entrepreneurship within the framework of state programs, including the National Development Strategy for 2006-2015, the State Entrepreneurship Support Program for 2012-2020, and the Strategy for the Development of the Labor Market of the Republic of Tajikistan until 2020.
Along with government agencies, civil society organizations direct their efforts to improve the business support infrastructure, expand opportunities for the formation and strengthening of the private sector, and create a favorable business environment. They attract development initiatives
professional business communities.
Our public organization “Cross-Border Economic Relations in the Sughd Region” contributes to improving the business climate in Tajikistan by expanding access to information and training resources, reducing restrictions on doing business, increasing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises and expanding access to credit.
Our mission is to create prerequisites for increasing the level of income of entrepreneurs, assist in organizing new jobs, promote and develop the border economic network by attracting small entrepreneurs living and doing business in the north of Tajikistan and the south of Kyrgyzstan.
Thus, in 2014, we acted as project executors of one of the components of the program "Framework conditions and financing for the development of the private sector in Tajikistan>", which is aimed at increasing economic growth, strengthening the private sector, alleviating poverty, and reducing the country's susceptibility to risk and crisis. The component is focused on the development of cross border economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the United Kingdom Department for International Cooperation (UKAID) and implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation in Tajikistan (GIZ).
The main objective of the seven projects of the component, which were also implemented by us with the support of the Executive body of state power of the Sughd region, our other partners, was the development of border trade between the North of Tajikistan and the South of Kyrgyzstan, the improvement of border economic relations, business cooperation between external and internal entrepreneurs.
In accordance with the goals of the projects we implemented, meetings were organized for business partners of the North of Tajikistan and the South of Kyrgyzstan, the North and South of Tajikistan, and the regions of the Sughd region. We assisted in organizing meetings of the bilateral commission between the state structures of the Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic in the effective use of the resources of individual entrepreneurs, organized an exhibition of products of entrepreneurs in these regions, conducted educational trainings, and provided informational consultations.
Dear friends, we decided to tell you about these projects, the process of their implementation, the results achieved, the lessons learned, also about joint work with our partners, about the life stories of the Beneficiaries, about the plans of the organization for the future, on the pages of this magazine. I hope that the prepared publications will help you get acquainted with the activities of the Public Organization “Border Economic Relations>> in the Sughd region and open up wide opportunities for further fruitful cooperation with us.
